    Burger King Is First Fast-Food Chain in the UK to Launch Vegan Chicken Nuggets

    On January 5, Burger King locations across the United Kingdom are launching vegan chicken nuggets. The new menu item is available in six-piece, nine-piece, or 20-piece boxes along with sweet chili dipping sauce. The vegan chicken nuggets were developed by Dutch brand The Vegetarian Butcher—which was acquired by multinational conglomerate Unilever in 2018—and are made from a blend of soy and plant protein and coated in a crispy batter.     Former Giants star bringing southern fast-food chain to N.J.

    New Jerseyans may remember Paterson native Victor Cruz for scoring touchdowns as a member of the New York Giants, but they’ll soon have reason to know him for more than just football. Krystal Restaurants, a southern-based fast-food chain, announced a partnership with Cruz that will bring the eatery’s first locations to New Jersey. There will be five restaurants called “Victor Cruz’s Krystal,” and they’ll be in the area by the end of 2023, debuting in Cruz’s hometown of Paterson. The restaurants will be fitted with memorabilia from Cruz’s football career. Exact locations and opening dates have yet to be

    Clean Eatz, a healthy food chain, opening first regional location in Blawnox

    A national chain focused on healthy eating is opening Wednesday in Blawnox, the first location in the Pittsburgh area. Clean Eatz is opening at 175 Freeport Road, in a new retail plaza at the corner of Center Avenue. Owner Darryl Duncan, 58, hails from the corporate health care field and relocated to Pittsburgh from Morgantown, W.Va. He plans to open five Clean Eatz in the area.     Filipino fast-food chain Jollibee will open first Michigan site

    The popular Filipino fast-food chain Jollibee, known for its fried chicken and spaghetti, will open its first restaurant in Michigan in Sterling Heights. The restaurant is expected to open this summer in the former Denny’s space along Hall Road in front of Lakeside Mall, Gabe Schuchman, the managing director of Alrig USA, the Bingham Farms-based developer and owner of the project, said in an email. Schuchman said construction on the $4 million restaurant, to be located at 44945 Woodridge Dr., will start in January. Jollibee will employ about 75 people.     Plant Power Fast Food is going head to head with the big players in the fast-food space but making a bet on the fact that eating meat-free, dairy-free is the way of the future.
