If you’re a coffee lover, you likely heard all about the whipped, or dalgona, coffee craze last year. The trend, which took off after a viral video on TikTok, involves mixing instant coffee with sugar and water, then spooning it over milk.
It’s sure to wake you up in the morning with all that caffeine and sugar. But, if you’re looking for more of a refreshing summery treat, we have just the thing for you.
This recipe for Dalgona Whipped Coffee Popsicles from Nescafé combines cream, milk and instant coffee and turns it all into a nice cold popsicle.
The recipe for the iced coffee pops is actually easier than making an actual whipped coffee, as you don’t have to whip the mixture at all. Simply add all the ingredients together, then pour them into popsicle molds.
Keep in mind that while the popsicles don’t have added sugar, they do have coffee, so these aren’t a treat for children and not something you’ll want to eat as a late-night snack. Take a look at the full recipe below:
Vietnamese Iced Coffee Pops
Prep: 10 minutes, plus time for pops to freeze
Servings: Makes 10 3-ounce servings
1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
1 cup sweetened condensed milk
1 cup plus 1 tablespoon cold water, divided
3 tablespoons Nescafé Clásico Dark Roast 100% Pure Instant Coffee Granules, dissolved in 1 tablespoon hot water
Combine cream and sweetened condensed milk.
Combine 1 cup cold water, coffee mixture, and 1 1/2 cups cream mixture. Add to 10 popsicle molds, filling about 3/4 full. Add popsicle sticks and freeze until firm.
Add remaining 1 tablespoon cold water to the remaining cream mixture. Add to popsicle molds and freeze until firm.
Note: If you prefer, combine all the ingredients and skip the last step. The pops won’t be layered, but they’ll be ready sooner.

Of course, if you’d rather make an actual dalgona coffee, it’s not as complicated as it looks. You can even make an adult version (if you’re not serving it up for breakfast before heading to work, of course), by simply adding booze or swapping alcohol in for the water. You could also follow the original recipe, but then put the whipped portion right on top of your mixed drink of choice. While you could use whichever spirit you fancy, we found recipes that use vodka, rum or whiskey.
