Scooter’s Coffee, LLC, the Midwest-based drive-thru coffee franchise, is continuing its effort to grow its presence throughout the United States by bringing its drive-thru coffee locations to Perry.
Scooter’s Coffee, based in Omaha, Nebraska, specializes in artisan espresso drinks, fruit smoothies, baked-from-scratch pastries and features its signature drink, the Caramelicious.
The expansion into Perry is the result of an additional agreement signed by existing franchisees Troy and Kay Bauer and Stan Eilers. The Perry location is set to officially open on Monday, Dec. 19 at 414 1st Ave.
Troy and Kay signed their original agreement for a Scooter’s Coffee in Waukee in 2019. Kay, a nurse, had been stopping by Scooter’s Coffee every day on her way to work.
“They were so friendly. I struck up a friendship with one of the baristas. And I loved their drinks,” Kay said. “My kids starting teasing me, ‘Mom, you like Scooter’s Coffee so much you should just buy one.’”
Her husband, Troy, saw it as a great opportunity for the two of them to go into business together.
“It worked out so well that we decided to try a second location,” the Bauers said.
They partnered with Stan Eilers, another Scooter’s Coffee franchisee, for the Perry location.
“We thought it be fun to be able to bounce ideas off of each other,” Kay added.
According to the latest market trends compiled by the National Coffee Association, 60% of Americans drank coffee in the past day. That’s more than reported drinking tea, juice, soda, or even tap water. And the number of people who reported buying coffee at a coffee shop or restaurant has risen 20% since January of 2021. The drive-thru coffee model has boomed during the pandemic, giving customers a way to get a delicious beverage while staying socially distant. Scooter’s Coffee kiosks, with the brand promise of “Amazing People, Amazing Drinks… Amazingly Fast!” is helping Americans meet that demand.
“We really like Scooter’s Coffee core values of Integrity, Love, Humility and Courage,” Kay said. “The company was so welcoming and they continue to be very helpful. If we have a question, they are always there to answer it. It’s a great franchise to be a part of.”
